Secondary Education as a Major
Pitt-Johnstown offers four-year degree programs leading to a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in seven secondary education areas of concentration. The secondary education major prepares students to teach 7th - 12th grades in their selected area(s) of study.
The curriculum includes a distribution of courses in the arts and sciences, field-connected education courses, and courses in the appropriate content area of concentration.
Specialization Areas Offered at Pitt-Johnstown
In Secondary Education, certification is available in more than one concentration, although coursework must be selected carefully and more than the traditional eight terms of study may be needed.
