Are you a first-generation college student?
Help us learn more about you! At Pitt-Johnstown, first-generation students are those whose parents/guardians did not complete a four-year college degree. Please complete an online questionnaire to help us learn more about the experiences of first-generation students. Your participation in the questionnaire will make you eligible for the First at Pitt-Johnstown program.

Common Learning Space
The ASC houses comfortable study space options including accommodations for individuals and small groups. We invite students to use our small computer lab and printer, private study rooms, quiet classrooms, and comfy couches for all their studying needs; we also hope you'll stop by for a cup of tea, coffee, or hot cocoa, or some snacks during finals week.
ASC Staff
The Academic Success Center staff proudly serves Pitt-Johnstown with a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students. Every student possesses a unique set of skills and strengths that can be used to define his or her paths to personal and academic success. Our role is to empower and guide students on that journey.
The Director and Academic Counselors provide leadership for ASC services and serve as academic advisors to students who have not selected a major, counselors for GOALS (Gaining Opportunities through Academic Leadership and Success) and the First-Year Success Program (FYSP), and instructors for Major and Career Planning (I4 for undeclared students) and Foundations of Learning (CAS). Additionally, the front desk staff of the ASC is comprised of fellow students who welcome guests to the center, assist with directions and questions, and provide a friendly face.
Participating in the multiple and varied aspects of the ASC’s programs allows staff to cultivate relationships with most Pitt-Johnstown students. Getting to know the stories of our students contributes to our successful outcomes across the Center’s services.
