Pitt Johnstown strives to ensure a welcoming and safe environment in which all members of the campus community are treated with respect and compassion.The Office of Community Relations and Engagement offers resources and support to raise awareness, provide education and empower students who identify as members or allies of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary and queer communities.

Student Resources
Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) - This student organization provides a safe, non-judgmental space as well as a support network for the LGBTQ+ student body.
Gender and Sexuality Course Offerings
Preferred/Chosen Name Change Process - Students may designate a preferred name that they want to be known by in the University's systems - this is information from the Pittsburgh campus but all other information remains the same. For a UPJ ID card with a changed name, you will not be charged. However you should email Bob Knipple at knipple@pitt.edu prior to going to the ID center.
Programming and Workshops
Health & Counseling Services - This office offers a supportive environment for the LGBTQ+ community with educational resources, and a unique experience for each person.
Pitt Johnstown Diversity Committee - Comprised of staff, faculty and students who are charged with helping to advance the institution's goals of becoming a more inclusive and equitable campus community.
