Purpose
The MAC is here to help Pitt Johnstown students achieve their full mathematical potential. Whether they need a quick review of a prerequisite topic or ongoing assistance with a tough math class, students are invited to stop by to get help from peer tutors and sometimes even faculty members. Friendly assistance and a comfortable atmosphere including whiteboard tables make the MAC a perfect location for individual studying and collaborative work. No appointment is necessary so please stop by!

MAC peer tutoring is for students in the following courses:

  • Math 0001 Algebra 1

  • Math 0002 College Algebra 

  • Math 0004 Precalculus

  • Math 0121 Business Calculus 

  • Math 0221 Calculus 1 

  • Math 0231 Calculus 2 

MAC Supplemental Instructors (MAC SIs)
The peer tutors working in the MAC are known as MAC SIs. They have completed and excelled in Calculus 2 and its prerequisites.

Any student interested in becoming a MAC SI should contact the Co-Directors.
