Two members of the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown staff were honored for outstanding service by President Jem Spectar during the staff recognition luncheon held December 19, 2024 at the Living-Learning Center.
Kelly Devett received the President’s Staff Award for Excellence in Service to Pitt-Johnstown, and Joni Hoffman received the President’s Staff Award for Excellence in Service to Community. They were among the many honored during Pitt-Johnstown’s annual event.
Devett, Director of Campus Recreation and Student Athlete Success, was honored for her unwavering dedication and availability 24 hours a day for students always in a professional, calm and caring manner. She is always positive in her work on campus, supports athletic teams by attending games and matches, takes an active interest in the arts and is fully supportive of all students. Her tireless work has allowed UPJ to develop a much more engaged and healthy resident student population.
Hoffman, Event Manager in Conference Services, was honored for her outstanding contribution in serving our community for over 40 years in outreach programs related to health awareness, such as nutrition, stress management and even leadership developmental courses. Her planning, organizing and implementation of high quality education for the community reached not only those from Johnstown but also the surrounding region and even across the nation with nationally recognized programs.
