Our approach is simple yet profound. We feed curious minds with knowledge, educate them through interactive experiences, entertain their creativity, and provide the mentorship that can change lives. Imagine children engineering bird's nests, building windmills, and encountering fascinating creatures – these are the moments that ignite their passion for learning.
Rooted in the Community
Our roots are firmly planted in the heart of our community. We started in Solomon Homes, a choice driven by our commitment to accessibility. We tackled food insecurity head-on by providing nourishing meals, and in return, we've cultivated enduring mentor-mentee relationships.
Adapting to Challenges
Even in the face of adversity, we stand strong. When the pandemic struck, we adapted, delivering "fun-bags" filled with educational treasures and hosting outdoor events like our memorable Fall Festival, spreading joy and learning.
Expanding Our Reach
Our impact knows no bounds. Partnerships with the Flood City Youth Fitness Academy (FCYFA) and the Johnstown NAACP have enabled us to extend our reach, reaching even more young hearts and minds.
Enriching College Students
But Communi-TEAMS isn't just about the kids; it's a platform for college mentors to grow personally and professionally. They gain valuable experience and cultural competency, fostering a deeper understanding of diverse environments and backgrounds.
The Journey Ahead
Our journey continues, fueled by a commitment to our community's future. With your support, we aim to provide five more years of transformative programs, delivering 20 school-year events and five summer programs, starting in August 2024.
